Ether held up better. Bitcoin still needs a reclaim | Week Ending Sep 13, 2026
1. Ether Held Up Better
Posture: Stay selective. Require fresh support before taking new risk.
Next catalyst: Wednesday’s US retail sales, followed by the Fed decision and economic projections early Thursday WIB.
What changes our view: A BTC reclaim that survives a retest would improve the case. A break below the week’s observed low would weaken it. ETH holding up on its own is not enough to declare a broad recovery.
Bitcoin closed Sunday at $76,819, down 4.37% for the week. Ether closed at $2,476.68, down 1.48%. Both lost ground, but ETH absorbed the week better. At Monday’s reference snapshot, total crypto market value stood at $2.646 trillion, with BTC dominance at 58.91%. Fear & Greed was 57, still Greed, against 71 the previous Monday. Sentiment cooled without reaching capitulation.
The ETF evidence also split. Bitcoin products lost capital over the completed US trading week; Ether products finished positive. But ETH’s net inflow depended on Friday. Buyers showed up, without yet establishing a pattern we can extrapolate. The Fed now tests whether that selective demand can withstand another change in rate expectations.
Key themes this week
-
ETH’s resilience deserves attention; it does not establish an altcoin rotation.
-
Broken support takes priority over a bullish model output.
-
A bearish forecast after a large decline still needs an affordable entry.
-
Infrastructure milestones matter, but agreements, pilots and liquid token demand are different outcomes.
2. Strengths: Where Buyers Still Have Evidence
-
Ether lost less ground than the other examined majors. Its 1.48% weekly decline was smaller than those in BTC, SOL, XRP, AAVE and HYPE. ETH closed just above its approximately $2,470 completed-day 20-day average, and Monday’s reference price remains above it.
-
ETH funds recorded substantial net inflows on Friday. The Sep 8, 2026–Sep 11, 2026 sessions produced $196.9 million of net inflows, including $216.4 million on Friday. The preceding three sessions combined were negative.
-
The annual core inflation measure eased. August core CPI slowed to 2.4% year on year from 2.5%, even as its monthly increase accelerated.
3. Weaknesses: Support Has to Be Rebuilt
-
BTC’s fund demand turned negative across all four completed sessions. Net outflows totalled $462.7 million between Sep 8, 2026 and 11. That is an observable withdrawal of fund capital alongside a weaker spot price. It does not identify the cause of every intraday decline, but it removes one of the supports behind last week’s constructive interpretation.
-
Former leaders are giving back ground. AAVE fell 9.07% and HYPE 12.05% over the completed week. Both are below their completed-day 20-day averages. A strong preceding week does not oblige either asset to recover immediately. A new entry needs current structure, rather than a memory of leadership.
-
The latest monthly inflation readings leave the policy question open. Headline CPI rose 0.4% in August, with gasoline the largest contributor; core rose 0.3%. PPI final demand also increased 0.4% monthly. Annual headline CPI was 3.4% and PPI 5.4%. We are not treating these as equivalent measures or declaring a surprise against an unverified consensus. They make the Fed’s interpretation, projections and price response worth watching together.
4. Market Recap: Weekly Performance
5. Predictive Analytics & Trade Confluence
Forecasts are research inputs, not instructions to trade. The four assets below are coverage priorities.
BTC-USD (Bitcoin)
Reference Price: $77,763.05
Verdict: Watch / No New Trade. First require a fresh reclaim that holds on a retest; the old #43 entry is no longer the plan.
Market Confluence Analysis: The bullish three- and seven-day signals remain consistent with BTC’s position above its approximately $71,160 50-day average. Our interpretation is that the broader recovery can still influence the forecast while the shorter-term structure deteriorates. We cannot identify hidden model weights, and the output does not establish that this pullback has ended.
The nearer evidence is less supportive. Price is below the old $78,500 invalidation and approximately $78,476 20-day average, while the completed ETF week shows outflows. A move back through that area would be useful evidence only if buyers subsequently defend it. Until then, a model pointing higher and a price trading below former support describe a disagreement to investigate.
Trade Action: Watch the response around the former support area and the observed $76,393 weekly low. A reclaim and successful retest would prompt a new contract review; loss of the low would weaken the recovery interpretation. Neither level activates an order. Any future contract needs a specified venue, candle timing, permitted fill, structural stop, separate target rewards and an expiry.
Analyst Note: The strongest reason to wait is that the proposed buyer has not yet established the structure we need. A higher forecast destination does not improve the evidence at today’s entry.
ONDO-USD (Ondo)
Reference Price: $0.35091
Verdict: Watch / No New Trade. Revisit a fresh failed retest, or a breakdown followed by a rejected reclaim; do not chase the current low.
Market Confluence Analysis: ONDO’s bearish three-day direction fits its visible weakness, but the seven-day classifier has moved to neutral and the two models disagree. A negative seven-day price projection does not turn that neutral signal into a qualified short. Price is below both its approximately $0.35924 20-day and $0.36183 50-day averages. The decline is therefore consistent with the forecast, although that does not tell us how much further it can travel before a rebound.
The counterargument is entry location. ONDO lost 11.43% over the completed week. Monday’s rebound to $0.35091 puts it above the observed $0.34118 weekly low without repairing the trend. Selling after that decline risks paying for a move already delivered. Its seven-day directional history is above the threshold, but cannot rescue the failed direction and agreement checks. The FLOQ agreement discussed below provides a business-development counterpoint; it does not yet establish demand for ONDO itself.
Trade Action: A failed rebound could reveal a defensible invalidation level. A breakdown with a rejected reclaim could provide a different structure. Review either event against fresh price, liquidity and model evidence; direction and agreement must also recover before a model-qualified trade can be reconsidered. No limit entry, target or stop is issued now, and the forecast destination is not a take-profit instruction.
Analyst Note: The short-term bearish forecast warrants attention, but failed selection checks and an extended decline prevent a fresh short case. A chart trigger alone would not repair those failures.
AAVE-USD (Aave)
Reference Price: $126.23
Verdict: No Fresh Long. Require new support structure and intact BTC conditions before reconsidering.
Market Confluence Analysis: AAVE’s bullish model directions sit against two different trend observations. Price remains above its approximately $109.20 50-day average, but below its $127.43 20-day average and the former $128.50 invalidation. A longer recovery can coexist with a failed recent base. That is a plausible explanation for the tension between forecast and current price, not evidence that the next bounce is reliable.
The observed weekly low is $120.57. A bounce away from that low shows some recovery in price; it does not restore the support structure used in #43. We have not verified a new asset-specific catalyst that would justify treating AAVE as insulated from broader crypto weakness. Positive social votes are self-selected responses, not representative positioning or committed buying power.
Trade Action: Review whether buyers can establish and defend fresh support. Moving through the former invalidation once is insufficient. AAVE also remains exposed to the same broad market risks as BTC, so it cannot become an automatic replacement merely because the BTC plan failed. Any later long must compete for the single correlated allocation permitted by the pilot.
Analyst Note: The model provides a reason to keep AAVE under review. The chart provides a reason to demand more evidence before assigning money to that view.
ETH-USD (Ethereum)
Reference Price: $2,516.53
Verdict: Analyst Watch / No New Trade. Relative strength does not override the model gates.
Market Confluence Analysis: ETH has the most constructive relative performance among these four assets over the completed week. Price remains above its completed-day 20-day average, and its ETFs finished the US week with inflows. Those observations support the resilience argument. The concentration of those flows makes durability the next question, rather than an established conclusion.
ETH nevertheless fails Monday’s model selection: its seven-day direction is neutral, its directional history is below the threshold, and its three-day signals disagree. Promoting it because the price story looks better would change the process after seeing the result. Keeping it as an analyst comparison lets us discuss useful evidence without claiming a model-qualified trade.
Trade Action: Monitor the approximately $2,470 moving average and the observed $2,647.68 weekly high as context for the next review. A defended pullback or a sustained range break would change the chart, but would not automatically clear the other gates. Review as the macro releases approach and after their price response; no automatic entry survives a change in that context.
Analyst Note: ETH can be the stronger asset in the comparison while still lacking a complete entry case. Preserve that distinction.
6. Token Launch & Ecosystem Radar
TeQoin ($TEQOIN) — launch watch; a sale deadline before a confirmed distribution date.
-
Why watch it: The strategic round is scheduled to close Sep 14, 2026 at 21:00 WIB, subject to availability. That makes the next useful evidence the release terms and delivery milestones, rather than an advertised future listing price.
-
Current Status: Public distribution/TGE is still pending according to the checked launchpad terms, with early Q4 an estimate and no confirmed day. A deployed token contract is distinct from distribution and exchange trading. The public testnet is live; mainnet remains pending. TeQoin has not appeared in the prior radar tracker. Official sale terms.
-
Monitoring Rationale: Verify the eventual claim route, distribution chain, mainnet readiness and supply disclosures. Testnet activity is not proof of paying demand. A completed sale would not, by itself, settle any of those questions.
Ondo Finance ($ONDO) — ecosystem development; exploring Indonesian distribution for tokenized securities.
-
Why watch it: A Sep 9, 2026 FLOQ announcement describes an agreement with Ondo to explore access to tokenized US stocks and ETFs for eligible Indonesian users. Distribution can matter as much as issuance when a product seeks new users.
-
Current Status: An exploratory MoU. No specific Indonesian product or asset launch is confirmed, and legal, regulatory and technical reviews remain. This is an established ecosystem entry, not a pre-TGE project. FLOQ’s announcement.
-
Monitoring Rationale: Look for the transition from an agreement to approved, usable distribution with clear product terms. Even successful implementation would require a separate explanation of how activity benefits ONDO holders. The business milestone and the token’s weak price can coexist.
Stellar ($XLM) — follow-up from #43; a new bank payment pilot as the protocol vote approaches.
-
Why watch it: Since last edition’s USDT0 coverage, U.S. Bank has announced its first USBDC pilot payment between its North American and European entities. The transaction connected a bank-issued stablecoin with the bank’s internal systems. Stellar’s Sep 9, 2026 update.
-
Current Status: A cross-border pilot, not general commercial availability. The Protocol 28 mainnet upgrade vote is scheduled for Sep 17, 2026 at 00:00 WIB. That vote now falls inside our forward week; completion and activation still require confirmation. Official upgrade schedule.
-
Monitoring Rationale: Follow the vote outcome and evidence of use beyond the pilot. Neither a technical upgrade nor a bank announcement demonstrates proportional demand for XLM. The relevant progress is what becomes operational and gets used.
7. Strategic Recap & Forward Outlook
Last edition’s support conditions did not survive in the checked aggregate data. That changes the starting point: bullish forecasts now need a rebuilt base, while ONDO now needs its failed model checks to recover as well as an entry with room after the decline. ETH’s resilience gives us a comparison worth following, without supplying a reason to relax the selection rules.
Forward Outlook — Week of Sep 14, 2026–Sep 20, 2026
-
Macro Watch: US retail sales and import/export prices arrive Wednesday, Sep 16, 2026, at 19:30 WIB. The Fed decision and economic projections follow Thursday, Sep 17, 2026, at 01:00 WIB, with the press conference at 01:30. Housing starts arrive Thursday at 19:30; industrial production follows Friday at 20:15. The relevant question is whether the initial price response holds after the full information arrives. Federal Reserve, Census, BLS.
-
BTC Key Levels: The former $78,500 invalidation and nearby 20-day average frame the first reclaim review. The observed $76,393 weekly low frames the downside test. These are dated observations, not guaranteed support or a new execution contract.
-
Altcoin Outlook: Watch whether resilience spreads beyond ETH within a consistently measured asset set. A rebound in a former leader is more useful if it establishes support than if it merely retraces one weak session. Keep project progress separate from an assumption that every related token should rise.
-
Model Portfolio Summary: BTC watch; AAVE no fresh long; ONDO and ETH analyst watch. Zero new actionable trades after the final weekly close and Monday refresh. Any later untriggered plan must be reviewed as major releases enter the 24-hour window, beginning with Wednesday’s earlier data rather than only the Fed decision.
